Each year, over 20,000 young people age out of the U.S. foster care system without being adopted or reunited with family. Within the first year, 1 in 5 will become homeless, and nearly 50% will be unemployed by age 24. Many lack the support, life skills, and stability needed to thrive as independent adults. Youth who age out are at significantly higher risk for incarceration, substance abuse, early pregnancy, and mental health struggles. Without consistent mentorship or resources, far too many fall through the cracks—repeating cycles of trauma rather than breaking free from them.

Every year in the United States, approximately 3.1 million dogs enter animal shelters, with hundreds of thousands found as strays—lost, abandoned, or born without homes. Many of these dogs have experienced neglect, abuse, or trauma, leaving them fearful, anxious, and misunderstood. While some are reclaimed or adopted, over 330,000 dogs are euthanized annually, simply due to lack of space, resources, or behavioral challenges that go unaddressed. Rescue dogs often face long odds, especially those labeled “unadoptable” due to fear-based behaviors or lack of training. Yet with time, patience, and proper rehabilitation, these animals have the potential to not only heal—but to thrive, love, and even help others heal in return.

Rebuilding - Camp Mae

An immersive, hands-on program designed to equip foster youth with essential life and job skills while offering a safe, supportive environment for healing from past trauma. Through structured routines, mentorship, and meaningful work—such as caring for and training rescue dogs—youth build confidence, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Recovering - Fosters & Fidos

A rescue and training program dedicated to rehabilitating dogs and preparing them for new roles in society. Through this work, we also provide therapeutic healing opportunities for traumatized youth, creating a powerful bond that fosters growth, trust, and renewed purpose for both.

Reconnecting - Community Connections

After completing boot camp, youth are supported as they transition into the community through strong connections with local families, churches, and mentors. We walk alongside them in securing stable housing, finding employment, and building lasting relationships that foster belonging and long-term success.
